Greetings from Nairobi

I arrived in Kenya last night at a quarter to nine. The flight was 17 hours in total (with a transfer at Heathrow Airport in London), so you can imagine how happy I was when the plane finally landed in Nairobi! I was met by the two heads of the East African Venture, who were very friendly and welcoming. Today one of them, Paul, is showing me and two other volunteers around Nairobi. I will be moving in with my host family in a day or two, and will start teaching on Monday. The school year has just started here, so everything is still being organized.
My impressions of Kenya have only been positive so far Though there is obvious poverty, everyone is very friendly and nice, and there is a very good atmosphere. Right now, I'm very happy to be staying for a year, just fear it might not be long enough! ![]()
